Allegro Central Vacuum Cleaning System represents the very best in design for your safe operation. However, as with any Powerful appliance, caution must be exercised while using this Central Vacuum System. The safety precautions and instructions for maintenance outlined in this manual are important. When using the Allegro Central Vacuum System, the following basic precautions should always be adhered to:
GENERAL Your Allegro power unit is equipped with a powerful electric blower motor and the necessary electronic controls. A circuit breaker is incorprated into the Control Panel of the Power Unit to protect your appliance from overheating or electrical overload. If the circuit breaker trips, you will be able to reset the circuit breaker by pressing the reset button. WARNING: Do not reset the circuit breaker for more than 2 or 3 times in succession. Each unit includes a six (6) foot grounded power supply cord to eliminate the need for high voltage (~120 v) hard wiring. The (optional) On/Off switch on the Power Unit is provided for additional convenience. The green LED light indicates that the Power Unit is energized with ~120v (or ~220 v where applicable) main supply. It also serves as additional tool for troubleshooting. The three (3) micron, Micro-Fiber Filtration System provides 99.98% filtering efficiency. If your hose is equipped with a control switch on the handle, then you will be able to operate (turn ON/OFF) the Power Unit at your fingertip.
For non-paper filter bag units, the dirt pail should be emptied several times a year depending upon the amount of usage and the size of your home. The unique serial number of the unit, the manufacturing date, and the relevant electrical data is shown on the serial plate.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury: 1. Unplug from outlet before servicing. 2. This appliance is designed for household use only. Do not use on wet surfaces. Do not use outdoors or pick up (vacuum in) wet objects. 3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children. 4. Use only as described in this manual. 5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If not working properly, has been dropped, damaged, let outdoors or otherwise got wet, call or take to service centre. 6. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as handle, close door on cord or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. 7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp plug, not cord. 8. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands. 9. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any openings blocked. Keep openings free of lint, hair dust or anything that may reduce air flow. 10. Keep hair or loose clothing away from opening and moving parts. Keep suction openings away from eyes, ears, mouth or any other delicate body parts. 11. Power off all controls prior to unplugging. Make sure it is inoperative prior to connecting or disconnecting accessories. 12. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. 13. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present. 14. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes. 15. Do not pick up sharp objects, especially if using a current carrying hose. Such a hose contains electrical wires do not use it if damaged, cut or punctured. 16. Connect to a properly grounded outlet. See grounding instructions. 17. Do not use without filter in place.
